So long and thanks for all the fish
Filmfodder is no longer publishing new content. This site remains as an archive of its 10-year history (and a coping mechanism for my melancholy ... but that's neither here nor there).
But all is not lost! We're still cranking out pop culture news and commentary over at TV Fodder, so be sure to stop on by. -- Mac
A Heinlein Biography
It's about time - a Robert A. Heinlein biography will be published next week.
End of the road for the Fodder Network
After 5 years with The Fodder Network, and 10 years with Filmfodder, I've decided to close up shop. Here's my short and heartfelt goodbye.
The Other Guys
"The Other Guys" is a big silly creation with a lot of pep, but it lacks considerably in the focus department. Review by Brian Orndorf. (Grade: B-)
"The Legend of Korra"
"Avatar: The Last Airbender" gets a sequel!
Dinner for Schmucks
At 80 minutes this would have been a multiplex miracle. But at two hours, it's a comedy that overstays its welcome. Review by Brian Orndorf. (Grade: B-)
Salt
"Salt" is a hooey-filled popcorn adventure that's got one incredible asset: the magnetism of Angelina Jolie. Review by Brian Orndorf. (Grade: B-)
Inception
"Inception" is a stunning feature of impossible technical virtuosity, but at times it's got the emotional resonance of a college lecture. Review by Brian Orndorf. (Grade: B)
"Haven"
SyFy's latest original series (based on a Stephen King novel) shows promise.
Predators
"Predators" is a wildly entertaining picture that reinvigorates the franchise and erases the bad taste from previous installments. Review by Brian Orndorf. (Grade: B)
Alas, I Must Be Going
I go back to being a full-time reader of comics.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
A film that should have been heroic is reduced to an exposition-heavy slog that barely makes any headway. Review by Brian Orndorf. (Grade: D)
"Airbender" Opens Today
I had high hopes for "The Last Airbender", but the early reviews are dampening my enthusiasm.
Knight and Day
Tom Cruise turns in a spirited effort, but this romantic caper doesn't do much in the adventure department. Review by Brian Orndorf. (Grade: C)
Early Look at 2011 Movies
I found an early (OK - really, really early) list of the most anticipated Sci-Fi movies of 2011.
Jonah Hex, DOA
