Joe Quesada On Colbert Report Tonight

Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Joe Quesada will be making an appearance on Comcedy Central's Colbert Report tonight at 11:30pm eastern time. Comicbookresources.com has an excellent interview (from Tuesday) with Quesada discussing the appearance tonight. You can follow this LINK to read that interview.

This is one of the things I like best about Quesada as Marvel's EIC. He's not afraid to do some press, to make his name known in association with Marvel. Appearances like this put Quesada on a similar path as Stan "The Man" Lee, the original public voice and face of Marvel comics. By the end of his career, his name could wind up being as synonymous with Marvel comics as his predecessor. Not only is this a good public relations move for Marvel but for the comics industry as a whole. The more Hollywood celebrities that publicly announce they are comic fans the more non-comic fans are exposed to the coolness of our world.

I highly recommend tuning into Comedy Central tonight to watch this appearance as it happens. Who knows, maybe Quesada will let some comic related spoilers or teases slip out. What do you have to lose? Even if the appearance is bad, the Colbert Report is brilliant and always funny so it’s worth tuning in for some quality entertainment.

An interesting side note: At Comic-Con the announcement was made that Stephen Colbert would be getting his OWN comic book from ONI Press in the coming year. If you would like to read more about that I direct you to back to CBR, as they have excellent recap on that particular bit of comic con news, HERE.
