
In a bit of climactic news, the Motion Picture Association of America has laid bare the news that the July 11th DVD release of "Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction" was intentionally inserted as a secret demographic mole, the purpose of which was to expose, once and for all, who was laying down their hard-earned dollars for DVD rentals. The MPAA proudly revealed the results of their sleeper DVD, stating that based on last week's sales charts the answer is obvious - DVD renters are lascivious males in their 40's.
Yes, we here at DVDF have lost our minds. No, the story above is not true. We felt the need, however, to make up a news morsel that would somehow explain away the stinging facts before our eyes.
"Basic Instinct 2" was the top-selling DVD rental last week.
Let us read that again.
Nope, the letters have not rearranged themselves to say something like, well...we can't even find a recent release to replace it.
Sigh. Will next week never arrive?
