"King Kong" Deluxe Extended Edition Announced

kong_20060720.jpg

As if Peter Jackson's "King Kong" were not long enough already, Universal announced that a special deluxe extended edition will be available on November 14. No word yet on what special features will be included in the disks, or if "extended" merely means additional bonus material rather than a painfully longer movie (we can dream, can't we?).

What is apparent, however, is that the set will come in two editions (have we used the word editions enough yet?), the deluxe set alone for $34.98, and a limited edition (ha!) gift set that will set you back $79.98 greenbacks! Oy!

For that price we better get Peter Jackson himself showing up at our door to explain why the hell he had to make this movie so long!

UPDATE: Movieweb has just released the Extended Edition details revealed at last weekend's Comic-Con 2006!
