Whatever your take on M. Night Shyamalan or his latest flick "Lady in the Water" (and believe us, there have been very vocal criticisms and praises on both sides), you have to credit the guy with sheer chutzpah when it comes to seeing one of his visions to fruition.
As with seemingly every movie release lately, we can't seem to get out of the office nor the house to catch the premieres, so most of the time we're stuck waiting for our Netflix queue to roll in. In this case it's a shame, because around here we're fans of M. Night (yes, even "Signs" and "The Village"). There's just something about his sensibility that strikes a chord with us.
So when Warner Bros. announced the release date for the "Lady in the Water" DVD, you can bet we instantly marked this one for rental (save to Netflix queue). Here are the official deets so far:
* Release Date: 12/19/2006
* Simultaneous release of standard DVD, HD-DVD, and Blu-ray formats.
* The DVD will be available in both full frame and anamorphic widescreen versions, with Dolby Digital 5.1 EX audio.
* The HD-DVD will feature Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 audio.
* The Blu-ray Disc will feature Dolby Digital 5.1 EX audio.
* Extras have not been announced as of yet.
Stay tuned for more details as we get them.
In the meantime, sound off in the comments, will ya?
