Oliver Stone's back this week, but this "new"
release is a rehashing of a subject that Stone apparently can't wipe from his
memory. "Alexander Revisited" is worth a viewing, however, so set aside
3 1/2 hours for epic madness. Hit the link below to jump to our full
DVD review extravaganza.
Will Ferrell's "Stranger Than Fiction" also tops our list this week,
given the positive word-of-mouth reviews and our desire to see if
Ferrell can stretch his acting legs. "Tenacious D" is a no-brainer in
the Netflix-queue department, given our love of Jack Black. We had our
reservations about "A Good Year." Ridley Scott doing a romantic comedy?
Huh? But after watching the trailer we have to say we've been
strangely compelled to rent this one. Terry Gilliam is also
back this week with a film that flew under the radar, but managed to
blow away Harry over at AICN. Gilliam has a soft, fuzzy, and strange
place in our hearts. "Tideland" also wins the Weirdest MPAA Rating
Award with this classic - " Rated
R for bizarre and disturbing content." Now
how are you not going to watch after that?
As always, leave us your mini-reviews in the comments....
