After the recent drought of
DVD releases, we just had to blog the announcements of
a few DVDs arriving in stores (or Netflix distribution centers) in the
coming months, just to get your underwear in a wad (well, they have ours in a wad).
There's nothing like prolonged, agonizing waiting, is there (eh, "BSG"
and "Lost" fans)?
Aqua
Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters August 14
"...reveals the mysterious
origins of Meatwad, Frylock and Master Shake.
When an immortal piece of exercise equipment threatens the balance of
galactic peace, it is up to the Aqua Teen Hunger Force to run away from
it. Peril escalates when the Plutonians team up with the Cybernetic
Ghost of Christmas Past to strive for ultimate control of the sinister,
deadly device."
Robot
Chicken: Season 2 Unrated September 4
"A modern take on the
variety/sketch show format, Robot Chicken uses
stop-motion animation to bring pop-culture parodies to life. No
pop-culture target is safe from the satirical sensibilities of the
show's creators. Legions of action figures are used to spoof everything
from Quentin Tarantino's blood-spattered epics to The Real World. This
ratings success story airs on Adult Swim, Cartoon Network's top-rated
late night sister service."
28 Weeks
Later October
9
"...picks up six months after
the rage virus has annihilated the Mainland
Britain. The U.S. Army declares that the war against infection has been
won, and that the reconstruction of the country can begin. As the first
wave of refugees return, a family is reunited - but one of them
unwittingly carries a terrible secret that threatens to reignite the
deadly explosion of bloodlust, carnage and chaos.
The Young
Indiana Jones Chronicles October 23
"The now legendary, almost
mythical character of Indiana Jones once had
a childhood. Every episode starts out with the elderly man that he is
in the 1990's getting into a specific situation where he has to tell a
story from his past. The stories go back to when he was ten years old
and on a world tour with his father, and to his late-teens when he
fought in World War I."
