Fresh Fodder: New DVD Releases – 12/4/07

Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End
Two editions of this DVD dropped yesterday; one is the widescreen, but for an extra $5, you can have a two-disc collector's edition. What does five bucks buy these days? A bit of movie treasure, says Wired. Features include:

• Anatomy of a Scene: The Maelstrom - The Special Effects Supervisor calls the scene the 'Super Bowl of the motion picture business'
• Keith & the Captain - Johnny Depp and his inspiration for Sparrow, Keith Richards, on the set
• Tale of the Many Jacks - The staging of the scene loaded with Jacks
• Deleted Scenes - 2 short scenes with commentary by Gore Verbinski
• Hoist the Colours - Hans Zimmer and Verbinski come up with the first song in the film
• The World of Chow Yun Fat - Fat's a fan of Pirates and the affection was apparently mutual
• Inside the Brethen Court - Details on each Pirate Lord
• Masters of Design - 5 separate featurettes with behind-the-scenes details on designing the props, the costumes, the creatures, and the set

MSRP: 2-disc DVD for $34.99, 2-disc 75GB Blu-ray is $35.99, and single-disc DVD for $29.99.

Superbad: Unrated
Fans will be McLovin this 2-disc release. If you’re not up for the extended party, there’s also a single-disc release. Blu-ray owners also have the option to use the “Superbad Supermeter” to keep track of the “lewd and crude” lingo in the movie.
