"Saw II" Poster Art Gets the Kibosh

Marketing a sequel must have it's rewards, but it's beyond me what they are. I mean, you toss, you turn, you pace ... finally you come up with the perfect graphic to indicate that the movie on the poster isn't "Saw," but "Saw II." And along comes the MPAA, like a killjoy who can't stop showing up at college parties to hand out AA pamphlets.

Yes, the party is over for anyone who thought the use of two severed fingers in lieu of Roman numerals was going to fly, but the Guardian makes it sound as though you might be able to get your hands on some materials that made it out the door with the grisly image intact. Good luck with that.

And if you'd rather just take a peek at the image itself and call it good, it can be found here. Unlike the MPAA, we'll let you be the judge of whether or not a couple of severed fingers on a movie poster are cause for alarm.--Pete Mesling

I LOVE the original Saw II poster!! Shame on the MPAA and bless you for providing a link so we can all judge for ourselves. Thanks for the great blog!
