What could be worse than deciding to remake a classic horror film like "The Omen"? How about adding "666" to the title? It's happening right under our noses, folks. You have nearly a year to prepare yourself for the summer 2006 release of "The Omen 666." That's right, June 6, 2006 is the day of reckoning. What an eerie coincidence.
We at Fearfodder try to keep an open mind about things for the most part. But this is just a god-awful idea, and it needs to be stopped. Seriously, write your legislators. Picket director John Moore's house. "The Omen" was one of Richard Donner's finest hours. Do we have the right to plow under what he so artfully sowed? It's a sad, sad day for the spirit of originality.
But, I'll take it all back if David Warner decides to reprise his role as Keith Jennings, the prescient photographer of the original. It's the only thing that could lure me to the theater to sit through this film.--Pete Mesling
