It's not every day I have the joy of relaying that a classic horror film will not be remade, but today is such a day. According to Dark Horizons, Ted Raimi, Sam's brother, is pretty convinced that a remake of "Evil Dead" is off the drawing board:
"Yes, I have this to say about it: there won't be one as far as I know. That's all I know. I mean there might be, there might be one but as far as I can tell there isn't. Nothing's going on with it at the moment."
Okay, so there's a tad of the old Hollywood wish-wash to Raimi's comments, but still, there's hope that brother Sam's previous plans to remake his 1981 gore flick are dead as hell. Now, if he wants to go ahead with plans to produce a fourth movie for the franchise, who are we to stop him? But let's leave the past in the past, for crying out loud.--Pete Mesling
