Not only has Fangoria announced the Oct. 4 DVD release of their follow-up to last year's "Blood Drive" collection, but they're calling it the second annual "Blood Drive." What these DVDs amount to is a showcase for short amateur horror films, with a couple of celebrity tie-ins to help draw attention.
The short films on the first "Blood Drive" were of uneven quality, but a personal tour of Clive Barker's paintings for his Abarat children's books more than picked up the slack. Round two should be just as much fun, as it will feature a twenty-minute documentary about Bruce Campbell--and Fangoria claims to have had more short film submissions to choose from, too.
Last year's "Blood Drive" was hosted by Rob Zombie, and this year's installment has found a way to work Fuse TV's Mistress Juliya into the picture. Perhaps fittingly, considering Campbell's involvement with the project, several of the short films will have a comic horror tone.--Pete Mesling
