For Tolkien fans who are curious to know what artists and other aficionados have to say about the literary giant's influence on the fantasy genre, Carlene Cordova's documentary, "Ringers: Lord of the Fans," is sure to be met with ebullience, despite its bizarre title.
The film's official site reveals the enticing list of artistic folk who are interviewed in the film. Notables include Clive Barker, David Carradine, Terry Brooks, and a host of cast and crew members from the "Lord of the Rings" films. Also weighing in are such musical icons as Lemmy Kilmister and Geddy Lee. As long as they're not all in the same room together, everything should be fine.
Narrating the film is none other than Dominic Monaghan, who played Merry Brandybuck in the Peter Jackson films. If you missed one of the festival screening's of "Ringers," fear not. You'll be able to prop it up between your Gollum bookends anytime after November 22, when it's scheduled to be released on DVD.--Pete Mesling
