The Adrants blog, by way of the official Robert McCammon Web site, reports that Italian marketing firm guerrigliamarketing.it has put together a rather unusual ad campaign for Gargoyle Books' release of McCammon's famous vampire novel "They Thirst"--the first edition of the terrifying story to appear in Italy.
The long and short of the gimmick is that the firm's intrepid marketing folks walked through the streets of Rome with a casket on their shoulders, handing out bogus coupons for coffins, lest the unwary public find itself among the walking dead. The book was of course also on display.
Check out the above Adrants link for a series of amusing photos from the event. It's a shlocky way to sell such a high-ranking vampire novel, but what the hell. These are shlocky times.--Pete Mesling.
