"The Backwoods" Trailer Bodes Well

The Gary Oldman vehicle "The Backwoods" just got a whole lot more promising--on two fronts. First, The Horror Channel has announced that Filmax International is behind the film. (They were the production company for Stuart Gordon's "Dagon.") Also, Filmax's official Web site sports a titillating trailer for the film.

I know there are limits to what you can safely conclude from a single trailer, but the production quality appears to be high, and a mustachioed Oldman is just far enough left of center to set the right tone. The Horror Channel points out a passing similarity to "Straw Dogs." Let's hope those involved throw in a little "Deliverance" just for good measure as well.
