Bruce Campbell is at it again. Slated to begin filming in January of next year, according to Dark Horizons, "My Name is Bruce" will feature he of the sculpted chin in the role of ... himself. If it was anyone else, I'd be concerned that Mr. Campbell was pushing the self-referential thing beyond the limits of ha-ha. But it isn't anyone else. It's Ash!
And besides, how can you go wrong with the premise of Campbell being abducted from the set of a B horror film and forced to play his character from that script? Well, I suppose there are a million ways, but my money's on Bruce adding metafiction to his list of proud accomplishments.
I would hasten to remind naysayers that the storylines of such Campbell classics as "Evil Dead" and "Bubba Ho-Tep" don't exactly set the world on fire in a hundred words or less, either. It all depends on how the subject matter is handled.--Pete Mesling
Bruce as Bruce? This will be his greatest role yet!
