Get Ready for Another "Friday the 13th"

Guess what? Fangoria says Variety says there's going to be another "Friday the 13th" film released this October the 13th. And it's not going to involve Freddy Krueger. Yay! Instead the film is expected to explore the mysterious past of Jason Voorhees. Do you suppose someone is finally going to shed some light on who sired the machete wielder? It would be a hell of a lot more compelling than watching the guy "terrorize" space.

As you might imagine, details are scarce at the moment, and it's probably insane to expect this film to be worth a damn. But I can't help it. Well, maybe expect isn't the right word, but I certainly hope for the best. It's been a good long while since one of the Jason films really grabbed me by the neck and staked me to a lintel, or zipped me up in a sleeping bag and slammed me to death against a tree, or pulled my head back by the hair and ... okay I'll stop now. Basically, as long as there's no rooftop boxing and no mistaken identity b.s., I'll give the new "Friday" the benefit of the doubt.--Pete Mesling

I had heard they were planning to remake the original, and then remake all of the sequels. Wouldn't surprise me, but this sounds a lot better...
