With the air date of Clive Barker's "Haeckel's Tale" episode for "Masters of Horror" just around the corner (Jan. 27), Fangoria has posted a bit of an update, complete with a couple of tantalizing photos. To be honest, the pictured undead look a little drier than I would have expected, but the other shot more than makes up for that. If this thing ends up being half as scary as the story it's based on, there will be many people walking around on Jan. 28 with bloody nubs where their fingernails used to be.
The able-penned series creator, Mick Garris, has written the adaptation. John McNaughton ("Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer") directs, and Jon Polito ("Highlander," "Fluke") and Derek Cecil ("Men in Black II") star. The talent seems to be in place, and Fearfodder is almost through lamenting the withdrawal of Roger Corman from the director's chair (and the fact that Clive Barker didn't take up the reins himself), so the time has come to hope for the best. Thankfully, the wait is not a long one anymore.--Pete Mesling
