If you're anything like me, you're looking forward to season two of Showtime's "Masters of Horror" series--even if you haven't seen all of the first season yet. It's simply obvious that Mick Garris is doing things right, and Fangoria's latest coverage of the film series doesn't do anything to dampen the spirits.
Added to the lineup for round two is Brad "The Machinist" Anderson, though there are no details about what he will be directing for the series. Returning masters include John Carpenter, John Landis, Joe Dante and Tobe Hooper. And of course there are a couple of treats in store that I find particularly tantalizing.
For one thing, Stuart Gordon will also be returning ... in a big way. Instead of a Lovecraft tale, Gordon will be taking on Poe's "The Black Cat," and he hopes to see Jeffrey Combs in the role of Poe himself! Also, Clive Barker has already agreed to deliver an original screen treatment for series creator Mick Garris to adapt and direct. No signs of this series slowing down anytime soon.--Pete Mesling
