Richard Matheson Signs Books at Dark Delicacies

If you're in the Los Angeles area tomorrow, there's no excuse to be anywhere other than the Dark Delicacies bookstore in Burbank at 2:00 p.m. Richard Matheson, according to the Horror Channel, will be there to sign some of his newest book releases from Gauntlet Press, and the purchase of one will entitle you to two additional signatures! Time to dust off that first-edition copy of "Someone is Bleeding," and maybe a vintage Playboy in which his fiction appears.

I won't beat around the bush; I'm extremely jealous of everyone who will be at this event. Matheson is a literary giant whose fiction has a way of burrowing under the skin. To read his best novels ("Hell House," "I Am Legend," "Bid Time Return," "What Dreams May Come," "The Shrinking Man") is to have them with you forever. They simply won't let go, and eventually you will want to reread them. And that's to say nothing of the numerous films that have been based on his work. So to those of you who will be wallowing in Mr. Matheson's company tomorrow ... enjoy, you lucky bastards.--Pete Mesling
