Get Away for the Weekend of Horrors

Fangoria has confirmed that they have added "Dagon" director Stuart Gordon to the guest list for their 2006 Weekend of Horrors, which is scheduled to be held in Chicago March 4 - 5. He won't be alone, either. Also in attendance will be Gordon's frequent co-writer, Dennis Paoli. The two of them are expected to discuss their well-received entry in the "Masters of Horror" series: "Dreams in the Witch-House," which is the latest in a line of H. P. Lovecraft adaptations from the famous director.

It's amazing in a genre as fickle as horror that filmmakers like Gordon--and others in the "Masters" lineup--have enjoyed the longevity that they have. Who could have guessed that the man who brought us "Re-Animator" would still be at the wheel of some of the genre's best material more than twenty years later? Probably not even Gordon himself.

Anyway, If you're planning on being in the Chicago area in early March, Weekend of Horrors is where you want to end up. Other attendees will include George Romero, Michael Rooker, Lloyd Kaufman and original Jason Vorhees portrayer Jason Ari Lehman.--Pete Mesling
