Kolchak Lives On through Comics

Archie Andrews once said, "Every silver lining has a dark cloud of despair." Well, the dark cloud was last month's news of Darren McGavin's passing. The silver lining is the announcement from The Horror Channel that Moonstone Books is releasing one mother of a send-off for Kolchak this July. "Kolchak: The Night Stalker--Bare Bones" will be a 464-page collection of old and new material based on everybody's favorite hunter of the horrific.

To be included are scripts from issues 1 - 7 of the "Kolchak: Tales of the Night Stalker" series of comics, as well as three complete comics: "Get Off Belial," "Lambs to Slaughter" and "Eve of Terror." Author notes throughout and a new comic penned by Joe Gentile and Dave Ulanski, with art by Bill Halliar, round out the must-have collection. And it will be priced just this side of twenty dollars! Sounds like a winner.--Pete Mesling
