Sony Announces White PS2 with Pop Pack

You may not have a PlayStation 3, but you can still rock that PS2 like there's no tomorrow. Sony just announced a limited, white version of the PS2, which will come bundled with the SingStar Pack.

Not sure, but are they just gouging the poor, unfortunate souls that can't take a bite out of their budget for the PS3? Or just slapping some white on a bunch of leftovers and calling it something extra special?

1UP.com says it's $150, which isn't exactly chicken feed, but it's still the same old PS2 -- except in white and with two USB microphones and the SingStar Pop game. That way you can announce in stereo that you don't have a PS3. Whee.

"SingStar Pop" might make for a fun party game, with karaoke-style tracks from Alicia Keys, U2, Rihanna, Ashlee Simpson, The All-American Rejects and The Clash. With microphone in hand (and hopefully a drink in the other), you can make like "American Idol" with up to 8 other people -- or engage in "one-on-one battles."
