George Goes Green for Vanity Fair

Academy Award winner George Clooney not only talks the talk, he walks the walk, and to prove it, he has become an important part of the new Hollywood environmental movement.
In the very first "Green Issue" of Vanity Fair, on newsstands April 11, George's efforts to raise environmental awareness and inspire activism are profiled, along with the hard work of other stars and eco-power players like Al Gore, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Bette Midler, and Edward Norton.
The driving force behind the politically minded 'Good Night, And Good Luck' and 'Syriana' wanted to make sure the important issues raised by his award-winning films continued to be addressed. Inspired by the message of 'Syriana,' which explores the politics surrounding the oil trade, George partnered with one of the film's producers to create "Oil Change," a campaign to educate audiences and reduce our dependence on oil.
On top of that, George reportedly traded in his BMW for an eco-friendly Tango, which is completely electric. The two-seater, which can reach speeds of 100 mph, is 39 inches wide, eight feet long and has to be charged each night. Often seen driving around L.A. in the narrow eco-speedster, George actually brought his car in to be used as part of Vanity Fair's "Green Issue" pictorial -- which hopes to begin an "increased commitment to reporting on the threat to our precious environment," according to VF editor Graydon Carter.
