Liz Denies Alzheimer Rumors

Legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor has dismissed reports that she is suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

Appearing on the Larry King Live show in the US, the 74-year-old described herself as happy and busy with a jewelry designing venture. She also said she remains active in the fight against AIDS.

Asked about recent tabloid stories on her health, Taylor said: "Oh come on! Do I look like I'm dying? Do I look like or sound like I have Alzheimer's?"

She explained that the papers were running the stories "because they do not have anything dirty to write about anybody else is all I can think of."

Taylor appeared in good form as she answered questions on a her film career, past loves and her AIDS activism. She became emotional when the subject turned to her longtime friend Michael Jackson, who was acquitted of child molestation charges last year.

She said: "I've never been so angry in my life. I've been there, when his nephews were there, and we all were in the bed watching television. There was nothing abnormal about it. There was no touchy, feely thing going on. We laughed like children and we watched a lot of Walt Disney. There was nothing odd about it."

The actress has suffered various health problems in recent years.

In 2004, she was treated for congestive heart failure and underwent radiation therapy in 2002 for basal cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer.
