Shiloh is barely a week old, but Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's baby girl is already commanding top dollar.
The bidding on a set of the baby pictures everybody wants to see began last night, according to People Magazine. Celebrity photo agency heads estimated the photos could fetch $3.5 million to $8 million through worldwide print and TV distribution.
That would make the snaps of Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, which were taken at her parents' fortified hideaway in the remote African nation of Namibia, possibly the most expensive baby pictures of all time.
"The photo shoot took place over the weekend, but I can't give you any more details about that," said Deb Trevino, a spokeswoman for Getty Images, which is licensing the images.
The photographs were described as "very intimate, casual and not Hollywood glitz" and all the proceeds from their sale will go to charity, Trevino said.
While Pitt and Jolie haven't specified which charity, in a statement they said they're selling the images to benefit the world's children.
"While we celebrate the joy of the birth of our daughter, we recognize that 2 million babies born every year in the developing world die on the first day of their lives," the statement said.
Shiloh was born on May 27 about 400 miles from the Namibian capital of Windhoek. Photographers have been camped outside the movie stars' digs for weeks, desperate to capture the first image of the baby.
