Baby Suri Lives!

Dare I believe it? Does Baby Suri really exist and did Katie Couric actually show the pics on the night of her big CBS debut? I wouldn't know, as my DVR gave me a little treat by conveniently shutting down just in the nick of time, but if what I hear is true, great planning on her part. No better way to boost your potentially iffy approval ratings than by pimping out the TomKitten!

I hate (hate!) to admit this, but Suri looks like both Tom and Katie (Holmes not Couric - but wouldn't that be fun?) and she does, in fact, have both "pretty blue eyes" and "beautiful black hair" like all those creepy, robot, Scientologist "people" told us she did. Is this what all my obsessing boils down to? A normal baby that photographs well? I refuse to believe this is the end!

And on a sidenote, was Katie Couric really allowed to do that? Vanity Fair released its October issue today, with the promised Suri pics inside, and I can't imagine they wanted their story scooped by KC; I feel like she broke some sort of journalism code of honor. Not that I won't be plunking down my 5 bucks anyways as soon as I can break away from work...but still.

Whose eyes are those?? She is a real cutie for sure though...

It pains me to say this, but that's an adorable baby.

Apparently I have more to say ...

As a "journalism guy" (I've got the degrees and the lesson plans to prove it), I find the Katie Couric build-up depressing. My local CBS affiliate has been pimping Katie's arrival for months, making it out to be a bright new era in journalism. Whatever. It's a bright new era in entertainment-media synergy. Journalism has nothing to do with it.

I do believe Suri exists . She is a beautiful baby and I'm hoping both Tom and Katie will be happy forever. May God bless them!. They are good together and not hurting any body else where unlike Jolie stole Aniston's husband, that hurts. Imagine, a girl you know steels your husband or boy friend right in front of you.

Blast! So many parts of me wanted Suri to be bizarre and outlandish... but doggone, she's a cute little booger. Maybe that neat little nose will turn into daddy's honker...

Agreed on Couric. I just don't see the big deal. With so many news and information sources, the role of an "anchor" has lost 80% of its importance. The iconic idealism of a "Trusted face and voice of news" is lost in the vide availability of news channels with a wide variety of personas. I get 90% of my news from the internet and radio anyway, as do so many of the working and tech-savvy. Also, on a side note, Couric is like Rachel Ray. Pretty soon I want to take her 30-minute meal and stuff it down her throat just to get her to stop talking.
