Yahoo! News reports that shooting will begin May for an "indie thriller" starring former-mermaid Daryl Hannah and one time shark-killer Roy Scheider. The cast is rounded out by Eric Roberts (brother of Julia) and Sean Young (that's a girl).
"Dark Honeymoon" (which isn't even listed on IMDb at the time of this post) follows a man who, after meeting a seductive woman and marrying her after a brief relationship, realizes something is lacking in from their newlywed bliss--people around them keep dying. "Mysteriously and violently," at that. Hope he signed a pre-nup!
Surprisingly, the buzz around this new project isn't so much the subject matter--demented spouses are old hat, apparently. Instead, people are making note of the cast, and understandably so. The line-up is a far cry from hot ensemble casts like Match Point, or even the small-scale credibility behind the foursome in We Don't Live Here Anymore. The group gathered for "Honeymoon" won't be drawing crowds from the 18 to 29 demographic, but the filmmakers don't seem to mind. Maybe they're hoping for a hit with 40-somethings who've run out of operas to attend.
