Interview with "Notorious Bettie Page" Director

As it's winding down, press and Average Joes alike get the chance to sit in on panels and interviews with directors, writers and producers at South by South West Film. Karina Longworth, over at the prolific Cinematical (one of my many daily reads), took part in a roundtable with Mary Harron, director of the much buzzed about The Notorious Bettie Page.

The interview, available as a podcast here, is only twenty-five minutes long and covers everything from casting the lead role to handmade costumes for authenticity's sake to screening the movie at the Playboy Mansion. It's interesting to get a glimpse of the years of research Harron put into what was originally supposed to be a short film; in the end, the feature only took thirty two days to shoot.

The film hits theaters this year; catch a preview at the official site.
