Aussie Flick "Kenny" Set to Gross Big

kenny.JPGWith a budget classified as "negligable," two brothers in Australia are on their way to making the highest grossing film of the year so far.

Kenny is the story of a hapless port-a-potty professional raising a son as a single dad and pursuing success in his odd line of work. The two brothers, Clayton and Shane Jacobsen, are far from professionals; the film took over two years to shoot and the cast includes Jacobsen family members.

How'd this little-film-that-could get its start in the first place? Seems a company called Splashdown privately funded the whole thing, minimal as that funding must've been. Their interest in this particular film suddenly makes sense when you realize that Splashdown is a surprisingly pleasant name for a company that makes...port-a-potties.

"Kenny" is currently only in theaters down under, but it's making quite the splash on its 100-some screens. It's already pulled in around $2.8 million (US) and is on track, according to Variety, to pass the $3.5 million milestone.
