Casting News: Spacek and Matthews in "Lake City"

dave.JPGA quick blurb on Yahoo! Movies says Sissy Spacek and Dave Matthews (who's going all classy and will be credited as David) are signed on to star in "Lake City."

The movie's about an estranged mother and son who haven't spoken since a tragedy years ago. Their reunion comes when the family home is threatened. The only word on the circumstances is that they're "dire." Any guesses what that means?

It's the first film co-writers Perry Moore and Hunter Hill will direct; nabbing Spacek for the role seems to have gotten shooting, which starts Monday, off on the right foot. Says Hill:

With Sissy, we have a proven film icon who brings incredible talent to the material...It's so rare that you get your No. 1 choice in a film. We wrote the part for her.

The announcement's so fresh, Lake City doesn't have an IMDb listing. Stay tuned for details.
