Until I started with the Fodder Network in March, I resorted to boring my friends with the latest casting news and box office reports. Imagine my delight when I got the chance to share such trivia with readers who care as much as I do!
As if this blogging weren't a perfect enough gig for me, I found a new job with Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis in May of this year. My summer and early fall have been a whirlwind of interviewing filmmakers, redesigning Web sites and creating the weekly emails Heartland's supporters receive.
Now, the Festival is upon us. Heartland's Opening Night is Thursday (with Michael Apted in attendance, by the way, with Amazing Grace), and we're all going in a little crazy. The Festival runs for nine days--forty incredible films, two education panels and one black-tie awards ceremony thrown in for good measure.
As a result, I'm taking a short leave of absence from blogging on Indie Fodder. Blogs, by nature, are up to the minute and constantly changing, so I apologize in advance for the stagnance the site will take on for the next two weeks.
But please, check back often. If something too good to pass up comes along, I'm sure I'll take note. And I'll be watching this space, too. I plan on returning October 30 with a fresh take on posting. If you've got suggestions or ideas on what you'd like to see Indie Fodder cover, leave a comment.
In the meantime, go see a movie or four.
