Hello, pre-"Titanic" Leonardo DiCaprio! Yes, the girlish lad had quite a stunning career before the big boat, and "The Basketball Diaries" was just a part of it. But it's a good part, really. Watch it and be amazed at how the little bugger can actually, like, act.

In "The Basketball Diaries," Leo plays the young poet Jim Carroll, who dreamt when he was a teenager of becoming a basketball star. But, as his life got more and more complicated — a friend dying of leukemia, a coach molesting his team of boys, pressure from his mother — he morphed into a big fat junkie. The movie follows his path to addiction — from using once a week, to once a day, to every hour — and shows where a little harmless experimentation will get you — namely, robbing stores, mugging old ladies, and prostituting yourself for smack money.
