Don't let the fact that Keanu Reeves is the star of "River's Edge"
fool you it's actually really good. Like, good in a serious,
cinematic sort of way. It is also, to coin a phrase, depressing as
fuck, so don't watch it if you're having a low self-esteem sort of
day. Just about everyone in this movie is hateful, abusive, abused,
and/or just plain insane, and when one kid in a group of high school
friends ends up killing his girlfriend, they all just get even worse.
Some of them opt for the cover up route, some want to call the cops;
everyone turns on each other and themselves and did I mention it's
really really depressing?
