Nic Cage Bails on "Spider-Man"

It's a sad day. My dream of seeing Tobey Maguire whup Nic Cage's non-Oscar-worthy butt in "Spider-Man" will not come to pass. The NY Daily News says that Cage's role in John Woo's "Windtalkers" will prevent him from playing the Green Goblin in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" movie. It was to be a small role, but it still would have been fun to see Action Hero Nic knocked down a few pegs. With this role falling through, Nic is 0-2 in the superhero department. He was attached to Kevin Smith's "Superman Lives" project for a couple years, but that film never got off the ground. Maybe Nic should forget about this superhero stuff and stick to that big-budget Bruckheimer nonsense. Either that or he could put that Oscar to use by acting.
