Kirsten Dunst is Mary Jane

Coming Attractions reports that Kirsten Dunst ("Bring it On") has landed the coveted role of Mary Jane Watson in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man." Dunst beat out Alicia Witt ("Urban Legend"), who was long-rumored as the Mary Jane frontrunner. This will be Dunst's highest profile role since 1994's "Interview With the Vampire."

In related news, the sneaky do-gooders at French Premiere have just posted the "Spider-Man" teaser trailer from the ShoWest 2000 convention. The trailer isn't much to crow about, but those with an affinity for computer-generated spider webs should definitely give it a look (requires Quicktime).
