Pitch Black 2 Bestowed With Name

In an interview with Zap2it.com, Vin Diesel says the sequel to the sleeper hit "Pitch Black" will be titled "The Chronicle of Riddick." David Hayter ("X-Men") is writing the script, which, given the title, will probably focus more on the adventures of shiny-eyed fugitive Richard Riddick rather than night-loving monsters.

In the interview, Diesel reveals that he's training for the role, which suggests that production might begin later this year or in early 2002. David Twohy, director of "Pitch Black," is expected to return for the follow-up.
