Episode II Title Announced, Groaning Commences

It's official. The title of "Episode II"—the official, legally binding, soon to be on posters and marketing material everywhere title—is "Attack of the Clones." Unlike other title suggestions that have bounced around the Web, this one has the stink of legitimacy because it comes from the heart of George Lucas' dominion: Starwars.com.

The Starwars.com announcement attempts to justify the title's existence by saying it "harkens back to the sense of pure fun, imagination and excitement that characterized the classic movie serials and pulp space fantasy adventures that inspired the Star Wars saga."
