X-files 2: Mythology? What Mythology?

In an interview with Sci Fi Wire "X-files" creator Chris Carter says the May 19 series finale will not tie directly into the next "X-files" film. The movies, Carter says, "are now their own thing: good, scary stories the way we've been telling them now for nine years."

Sci Fi Wire says "X-files 2" is tentatively scheduled for a 2004 release.
