"Spider-Man" is the biggest, fastest blockbuster in history. Variety says the Sam Raimi-directed feature brought in an estimated $114 million from Friday through Sunday, breaking the $90.3 million debut of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." Reuters says "Spider-Man" eclipsed "Harry Potter's" $33.5 million one-day sales record, ringing up $43.7 million on Saturday.
"Spider-Man" was budgeted between $120 and $130 million, which means the production will probably break-even next weekend.
