Pulitzer Winner Snares Spidey 2

Michael Chabon, Pulitzer-Prize winning author of "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay," will write the screenplay for "Spider-Man 2," reports Variety. Previously, Columbia signed "Shanghai Noon" creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar to tackle the sequel. The article doesn't explain the studio's switch to Chabon, but I'm sure that Pulitzer didn't hurt his cause.

"Spider-Man 2," scheduled for release May 7, 2004, will reunite Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and director Sam Raimi.
