Three more bloody sequels

Ah, sequels and remakes. Where would we be without them? Most are awful, some are decent, and a few are actually good. A handful of forthcoming horror retreads will give fear fans a chance to cast aspersions or accolades as they see fit.

If the phrase "unnecessary sequel" isn't too redundant, here's one for you: "Jeepers Creepers 2," which the official web site assures us will be hitting the streets on August 29. Can't wait to find out what happens next!

In the "inevitable sequel" category we have the long-anticipated (by someone, presumably) "Freddy vs. Jason" film coming out on August 15. I would have been excited about this when I was fourteen or so, I have to admit. Now I'm just kind of nervous about the whole damn thing.

And finally, it looks like there may be a tentative release date of February 6, 2004 attached to "Exorcist: The Beginning," according to KillerMovies.com. This prequel can only fall into the category of "we-hope-it's-better-than-'The Heretic'-but-how-can-it-possibly-measure-up-to-the-original?"--Pete Mesling
