Move over, K2: Matrix reloads for IMAX

If you were one of the 9 billion people who paid to see the "Matrix: Reloaded" this May, Hollywood hopes you'll be willing to fork over more cash to see it again -- this time at your friendly neighborhood IMAX theater.

Over the next two weeks, Warner Bros. Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures, Joel Silver and IMAX Corporation will re-release "The Matrix: Reloaded" in nearly 60 IMAX theaters across the US and Canada. One can only imagine the delicious sensory-splattering overload of a certain freeway chase/fight scene played out on an 8-story screen with roughly 1.1 jigawatts of digital sound.

The next installment of the trilogy, "The Matrix: Revolutions," will open Nov. 5 simultaneously in both 35mm and IMAX theaters (the first time that's ever been done). Our advice: take both pills.

Check the IMAX Web site to find a participating theater near you.--Jim Montgomery
