Brad Pitt Leaves Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Mr. Pitt and Ms. Kidman have left "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," leading to rumors that Mr. Smith will now star in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." Got it? Probably not.

Variety says that with the recent departure of Nicole Kidman from the upcoming spy-comedy "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," Brad Pitt has chosen to also leave the production. The trade magazine says an offer has been extended to the real Mr. Smith--Will Smith, that is--to take Pitt's spot. There's no word on who may replace Kidman, but a logical choice would seem to be Jada Pinkett Smith. Or not.

Doug Liman ("Swingers," "The Bourne Identity") is still attached as director.--Mac Slocum
