Spielberg's "Duel" is run off the road...again

As you may know, today was to mark the DVD release of "Duel," Steven Spielberg's first, and often considered his best, film. Dennis Weaver was going to drive right into our living rooms, and scare us to death whenever we felt the urge. Alas, Universal seems to have a frog in its throat, and the release date has been flicked into the unforeseeable future. I wish I could report that the date has simply been changed, but at this point it appears to be anyone's guess.

Well, at least the story of the film's struggle for a DVD release is a good one. Spielbergfilms.com will be happy to tell you all about it.--Pete Mesling
