Ain't It Cool Founder Takes Producer Gig

Harry Knowles has broken through Hollywood's defenses. The Hollywood Reporter says Knowles, founder of Ain't It Cool News, will co-produce Paramount's "Princess of Mars."

The film, an adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' sci-fi novel, will be directed by Robert Rodriguez ("Spy Kids," "Once Upon a Time in Mexico").

The Reporter says Knowles had been consulting on the "Princess" project when co-producer Jim Jacks recommended he take on an official producer title. Knowles was instrumental in landing Rodriguez as the director.

"Princess of Mars" is Knowles' second producer credit. Last year he signed on to produce "Ghost Town" for Revolution Studios.

So what does this mean for Ain't It Cool News? Knowles addresses this in an Ain't It Cool News posting. -- Mac Slocum
