James Lipton Prepares J.Lo Fawning Session

Jennifer Lopez must be stopped. First we had "Jenny from the Block" and all that Bennifer nonsense, then came "Gigli," and now comes the most disturbing news of all: IMDb says J.Lo will appear on "Inside the Actor's Studio."

"Inside the Actor's Studio" used to focus on actors who could act but recent guests like Jay Leno (whose last "acting" credit was the classic 1989 Pat Morita cop comedy "Collision Course") represent an unfortunate broadening of scope for the show. And now we have a true jump-the-shark moment with Lopez's involvement. Who's next? The second Becky from "Roseanne"? Steve Guttenberg?

In fact, the best recent "Inside the Actor's Studio" episode was the brilliant parody on the "Old School" DVD.

Back in the old days (old being a couple years ago), "Inside the Actor's Studio" used to bring me joy. I think those days may be gone. [Cue moment of silence followed by the mournful wail of "Taps" from far far away]. -- Mac Slocum
