Kenneth Branagh Jumps on "M:I-3" Bandwagon

The Hollywood Reporter says Kenneth Branagh has signed on for "Mission: Impossible 3." His role hasn't been revealed, but the trade pub says he may step in as one of the villains -- a fact driven home by Branagh's natural English accent. In the spy world, Accent = Villain.

In related news, rumors of Philip Seymour Hoffman's involvement in "Mission: Impossible 3" will heretofore be known as false rumors. The Reporter says a scheduling conflict with prevent Hoffman from participating in all the "Mission: Impossible" fun. Had Hoffman come on board, he would have been forced to play some sort of computer programmer/hacker (perhaps evil, perhaps not). The reason? In the spy world, Chubby = Computer Guy.
