DreamWorks Already Planning Shrek 3 and 4

Talk of third and fourth sequels would usually be babbling nonsense, but now that "Shrek 2" has brought in more than $300 million in three weeks, I'll give Jeffrey Katzenberg a mulligan for spilling the beans on "Shrek 3" and "Shrek 4."

"We didn't have the guts to tell anybody when we started out," Katzenberg tells The Syndney Morning Herald. "We have two more chapters to tell."

DreamWorks isn't wasting any time. Katzenberg says "Shrek 3" has been in production for nine months (it's scheduled for release in 2006) and "Shrek 4" has been cookin' for three months (it's scheduled for 2009).

We'll be following all this "Shrek" stuff on our spotlight page. -- Mac Slocum
