Dave Chappelle Feels the Funk for Rick James Flick

Dave Chappelle's TV impersonation of Rick James may have just landed him a film gig. The Hollywood Reporter says Chappelle is negotiating to play the freaky funk king in an adaptation of James' autobiography "Memoirs of a Super Freak." The comedian has spoofed James on his Comedy Central series "Chappelle's Show."

The article doesn't mention anything about the film's incorporation of Chappelle's Jamesian catchphrase, but producers would be well served to consider it as a title. Seriously. The drawing power of "I'm Rick James, Bitch!" will put "Titanic" to shame. -- Mac Slocum
